Description

The purpose of this notice is to inform interested parties that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source modification to Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS), Tucson, Arizona, under an existing Contract for the storage of 30,360 pounds of GFP NARC Rayon (1650 Denier Carbonized White Rayon Yarn) (obsolete material) at the Highland Industries- Spartanburg, South Carolina facility. The NARC Rayon is used in the production of the Tactical Tomahawk missile and is provided as Government Furnished Property ( GFP) to RMS. RMS is the current manufacturer of the Tactical Tomahawk and has been provided the GFP for the current Contract, which is stored at the Spartanburg facility. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to pay for the continued storage of this material during the production period. RMS is the only known source that possesses the capability, and expertise concerning the NARC Rayon storage requirements that is required to successfully provide this effort in an accurate and timely manner to meet the required Government schedule for continued Fleet support. Parties interested in subcontracting opportunities may contact Raytheon Missile Systems. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which will be considered by the agency. The estimated contract period of performance for this order is twelve (12) months.
