- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to award a contract to procure the A/S32A-47, Shipboard Helo Handler (SHH), Part Number: MANTIS-SHH-ELP-1, NSN: 4920-01-576-3881, on a sole source basis with Curtiss-Wright Indal Technologies Division of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The United States Navy (USN) currently uses the SHH for movement of the H-60 aircraft in the tight confines of shipboard hangar bays. The SHH will be required to operate on LCS Freedom class ships and will be required to maneuver and park/spot the H-60 R/S. The SHH accomplishes this by engaging the aircraft tail landing gear, lifting it off the deck and utilizing its zero turning radius to maneuver/rotate about the tail gear while pushing or towing. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 4920 and the NAICS code is 333924. The contract will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a maximum contract quantity of 18 units and will be spread out over a period of up to three (3) years. The contractor shall start delivery of the units five (5) months after contract award at a rate of two (2) units per month. Curtiss-Wright is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the SHH and owns the technical data. The government does not possess the rights to the sufficient proprietary data for the SHH. NAWCADLKE intends to award this contract under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
