Description
The SUNCAT research team and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory are seeking direct sources for a catalytic reactor system for high throughput screening of catalysts for Fisher-Tropsch and similar reactions. The system requirements are listed below. Interested vendors are directed to register in the Interested Vendor tab in this posting. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and any proposal submission will be disqualified upon receipt. The RFP will be provided to compliant suppliers. The minimum technical requirements for the system are outlined below. A.Testing station equipped with four independently controlled catalytic reactors. Each reactor should have: a.Independently controlled temperature from the other reactors, with a Tmax of at least 500ºC. b.Independently controlled gas composition from the other reactors, with a minimum of 4 gas inlets (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, helium/argon). c.Independently controlled pressure from each reactor, with a Pmax of at least 90 bar. d.Independently controlled GSHV values. e.Furnace isothermal zone of at least 10 cm. f.Support for catalyst loadings of 250-500 mg of catalyst powder. B.The system should be equipped with a carbonyl trap for the removal of metal carbonyls from the carbon monoxide source. C.Downstream components of reactor system: a.The four back pressure controllers should operate over a wide range of flow/pressure regimes (e.g. 30 sccm at 40 bar). b.Each reactor's product lines must have heating integrated to maintain all products in the gas phase (up to at least 200ºC). c.Products will be analyzed on-stream by a GC-MS (already provided). Reactor system should have valves to enable sequential analysis of each reactor product stream throughout testing. d.Four gas liquid separators should be available for the collection of liquid products from each reactor. e.Main gas exhaust will be sent to the building ventilation system. D.The system should be computer controlled and programmable for automated operation. a.Each reactor should be able to start/stop independently. b.System should come with GUI to control reactors and view data. E.System must be equipped for safe operation a.System should have carbon monoxide and hydrogen detection. b.Electrical components should meet UL certification. c.Doors or other barriers to isolate heated/high voltage parts during operation
