Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed price commercial item contract with Air Liquide Healthcare America Corporation to provide the VA Medical Center Palo Alto with Bulk Liquid Oxygen Equipment and services for the new Polytrauma Blind Rehabilitation Center (PTBRC). The supply equipment and services will be delivered to the VA Medical Center Palo Alto, 3801 Miranda Ave. Bldg. 500, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Air Liquide Healthcare America Corporation is the incumbent vendor that currently maintains all tanks and telemetry equipment already installed at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare facility. Medical grade oxygen is critical in daily patient care at the VA Medical Center. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 325120. Air Liquide Healthcare America Corporation is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required equipment and services. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy the agency requirements. This is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer on or before the closing date, 6/22/2015. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to mandy.thompson2@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated, however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VAMC Palo Alto, CA will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Air Liquide Healthcare America Corporation.
