- Solicitation The United States Probation Office for the Western District of Texas (Probation Office) requires UHF ruggedized encrypted hand-held radios, with a repeater, to allow staff to communicate effectively between teams and amidst team members while performing their duties in the field throughout the district which is comprised of seven division offices in Austin, Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, Pecos, San Antonio, Waco, Texas and three satellite locations at Alpine, Fort Hood and Temple, Texas. Hand-held Radios and repeaters must have the minimum characteristics described below to be determined to be technically acceptable. Hand-held Radio : •· UHF •· Ruggedized •· Adaptive Dual Mic Noise Suppression - allowing a user to speak into either the front or back microphone of the radio, instantly finding the voice and continuing to transmit clearly, even in noisy environments. The opposite microphone would cancel out the ambient noise. •· IV&D -Software data pipe that can enable future radio enhancements such as GPS location, Text Messaging, and Over the Air Programming. •· Integrated 128 Bit AES Encrypted Bluetooth - Must be non-discoverable, and capable of near field pairing. •· ADP Encryption •· Encryption UCM Module -The UCM module allows for future hardware based encryption upgrades such as AES FIPS 140.2 Level 3 encryption. •· Voice Channel Announcement - Provides a customizable wave file that provides audio confirmation of what channel the radio user is on so the end user does not have to physically look down to confirm in a mission critical situation. •· IP-67 Environmental Certification and MIL-STD-810G Rating •· 1900 mAh Li-Ion Battery (NNTN8128) •· 0.5 Watt rated audio •· 2" Belt Clip •· Integrated Bluetooth Hardware Capable •· Intelligent Lighting •· Low Battery Alert Tone •· Tempered Glass Full bitmap color LCD Display - 3 lines of text x 14 characters, 1 menu line x 3 menus, white backlight •· Backlight keypad - 3 soft keys, 4 direction Navigation key, home and data buttons •· Channel Capacity - 512 •· Compatible with DVRS Portable Repeater Portable Mobile Repeater : •· UHF •· Ruggedized •· Pelican case •· P25 Digital/Analog Operation •· Full duplex or simplex operation •· Antenna •· Assembly of repeater and all inclusive equipment in case Additional Specifications In addition, the vendor shall provide the following - •· Equipment (hand-held radio and repeater) with software installed and ready to use •· Documentation on how the radio and repeater were programmed •· Training on utilization of radio and repeater •· Warranty •· Point of contact for technical assistance
