- Description
- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, plans to solicit for a fixed-price construction contract for the St. Mary's Falls Power Station Protective Relays & Station Service Upgrade Project located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District, St. Mary's Falls Canal Facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: Removal and replacement of protective relays and switchgear/motor control assemblies within a 21.5 megawatt hydropower plant. The protective relays monitor the current, voltage, frequency, and other types of electric power measurement for the purpose of triggering circuit breakers to open in the event of an abnormal condition. The switchgear/motor control assemblies provide centralized control, protection, and distribution of 460VAC 3-Phase and 125VDC electrical power to auxiliary plant equipment and circuits. The project will also include related incidental work such as removal and replacement of ancillary equipment, cabinets, cabling, supports, etc. General Information: This project is unrestricted. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 238210. The small business size standard for this requirement is $15.0 Million. The estimated cost of construction is between $1 million and $5 million. The solicitation is expected to be available in May 2015. A contract award is expected in July 2015.
