- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District has a requirement to complete the following work along the Sand Hill River approximately 8 miles west of Fertile, MN in Polk County: The project consists of in water work to place rock fill at three locations roughly 120 feet to 180 feet downstream of each grade control structure on the Sand Hill River. The project also consists of reshaping/cutting portions of the concrete structures. The estimated quantity of rock is approximately 10,000 cubic yards of R20 riprap and 19,000 CY of R270 for all three structures. The actual quantity and type of rock required will be detailed in the specifications, once issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990; Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction with a size standard of $36.5M. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000; the contract will require 100% performance and payment bonds. We intend to issue the Invitation for Bids (IFB/solicitation) on or about July 14, 2015, however, this date is subject to change and it is the responsibility of interested vendors to monitor this site for changes, updates to this announcement and/or amendments to the solicitation once issued. The solicitation will not be issued less than 15 days from the date of this announcement.
