Description
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT M. RODRIGUEZ-GIST For any additional information, please contact the following POC: Paul Peria, Sustainment Engineer, at paul.peria.civ@mail.mil The US Army CECOM, Power and Environmental Directorate is seeking an Expression Of Interest (EOI) from prospective contractors who may be interested in developing and manufacturing an electrical converter/inverter to convert the output of an alternator with 4 three phase windings (12 wire output) into 120/240 VAC output. The alternator is a permanent magnet design that is operated at variable speeds depending on power demand. The new converter must fit in the same location as the existing design and interface with existing MEP-831A 3kW Tactical Quiet Generator electrical connectors, wiring, control circuitry, mounting holes, and cooling air intake. The converter must also contain control circuitry for overload, short circuit and other protective capabilities. The inverter/converter will be used in a Military generator set and must be shock resistant, designed for off road transportation and capable of operating at temperature, humidity, and other environmental extremes. The new converter/inverter shall perform to the same design specifications of government drawing 98-19604 while taking advantage of modern technology currently available to produce better regulation, efficiency and reliability, and provide faster response to load changes with a pure sine wave output. Prospective contractors are requested to submit an EOI that (1) identifies the prospective contractor (business name, business size (large, small, 8a, etc.), point of contact including e-mail address and telephone number; and, (2) describes the prospective contractor's capabilities, relevant experience and corporate resources to perform a contract of the size and complexity of that which is the subject of this procurement. Any response to this announcement by a contractor in no way obligates or commits the government to pursue this matter any further. Please submit your EOI to Paul Peria, Sustainment Engineer, at paul.peria.civ@mail.mil on or before 06 July, 2015-5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
