- STORAGE BATTERIES FOR MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT General Information Document Type: P = Presolicitation Notice Solicitation Number: SP3100-15-R-0012 Posted Date: Classification Code: 6140 - Storage Batteries NAICS Code: 335911 Set-Aside: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Contracting Office Address Defense Logistics Agency, Acquisition Management, DLA Distribution, J Avenue, Bldg 404, New Cumberland, PA, 17070-5001, UNITED STATES Description DLA Distribution has a requirement for Storage Batteries for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) that includes, but is not limited to forklifts, stock selectors, sweepers, tow tractors, and turret trucks located at DLA Distribution sites including at DLA Distribution Susquehanna Pennsylvania, DLA Distribution Norfolk Virginia, DLA Distribution Oklahoma City Oklahoma and DLA Distribution Yokosuka Japan. DLA Distribution intends to award a Requirements contract for the batteries. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 335911 and the small business side standard is 500 employees. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Subpart 15 Contracting by Negotiation in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. It is anticipated that Request for Proposal SP3300-15-R-0012 will be posted to this site between July 13 and July 14, 2015. Amendments to the Request for Proposal will also be posted to this site. Prospective offerors are cautioned concerning their responsibility to access the website for any amendments that may be issued under the solicitation. There will be no advance notification of amendment issuance. NOTE: All offerors MUST be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) Database at http://www.sam.gov or an award cannot be processed. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror(s) using lowest priced technically acceptable source selection procedures in accordance with FAR 15.101-2, as supplemented. Award will be made to the technically acceptable offeror with the lowest evaluated cost or price, who is deemed responsible in accordance with the FAR, and whose proposal conforms to the solicitation requirements. The Government intends to award without discussions, therefore, each initial offer should contain the offeror's best terms from a price and technical standpoint. However, the Government reserves the right to conduct discussions if determined necessary by the contracting officer and anticipate using reverse auctioning techniques if determined to be in the best interest of the Government during discussions. Failure to submit all the information requested by the solicitation may result in the proposal being eliminated from consideration for award.
