- Description
- NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the following Commercial item/services:13 projectors to replace the current projectors in its Future Flight Central (FFC) simulation facility. To include partial set-up and installation services and a five (5) year warranty on parts. Background: NASAs Future Flight Central (FFC) is an airport Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower simulation facility supporting research into problems at the nation's airports, Unmanned Aircraft Systems integration into the national airspace, and other research requiring visually immersive environments. The facility provides a detailed, realistic 3-D database modeling capability, projected on twelve screens, to provide a 360-degree out-the-window view. The facility also has an extensive video streaming capability for observation and control of distributed simulations and remote operations. The facility is used to develop new automation concepts and evaluate new ATC systems and related technologies. A Draft Statement of Work is posted with this synopsis. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12 using FAR Part 13.5 procedures. This procurement will be unrestricted, using full and open competition. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 333316 and 1,000 employees respectively. This pre-solicitation synopsis is issued to replace the Request for Information/ Sources Sought Synopsis AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER SIMULATION PROJECTORS - NNA15546900L posted on May 06, 2015. The anticipated release timeframes of specific procurement actions are as follows: Final Solicitation (RFP) release July 2015; Proposal due date August 2015 (30 days following issuance of final solicitation); and Contract Award anticipated August 2015. The firm date and time for receipt of proposals will be stated in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
