Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) with Medtronic USA, Inc., Mounds View, MA for furnishing and maintaining an inventory of non-biological surgical implantable medical devices (Coronary Supplies - Balloon Dilatation Catheters) on a consignment basis in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract/consignment agreement. The Justification and Approval for this action will be included as part of the award notice. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed price contract. NAICS 339112 applies, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The contractor shall deliver to the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center at 510 E Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101, for the period of contract award for one year with four (4), one (1) year exercisable option periods. Supplies will be on a consignment, and the specified items are to be used by the VA Medical Center. Contractor shall ensure all items are available within ten (10) days of contract award. Items shall be stored in the Cardiac Catheter Lab/Medical Service at the Overton Brooks VA Medical. This special notice of intent serves as notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals, solicitation or a request for offers. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that a prospective offeror can fulfill the requirements of the solicitation and that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center will proceed with the intended consignment agreement. No solicitation document exists and no telephonic inquiries or e-mail will be accepted. Information can be sent to Alexandria VA Healthcare System, PO Box 69004 (90C), Attn: Arlene A.
