- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for one(1) fully integrated radio-frequency identification (RFID) process that includes software integration, equipment, tags, parts, labor, training, and professional services. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from DataSpan, Inc., 22122 20th Ave., SE, STE 152, Bothell, WA 98021. DataSpan has customized software that is compatible with existing scanners, interchanges with new scanners that comply with NASA Glenn's frequency interference guidelines, and seamlessly coordinates with NASA's SAP database. The current RFID was originally purchased from DataSpan. Other companies would have to duplicate the previous effort, resulting in unnecessary re-expenditure of funds; and they would also negate the established programming that has already been applied toward this requirement.This procurement will allow the parts and software to be interchangeable ensuring there is no interruption in service or support. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures put forth in FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 1, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
