Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Allied High Technologies for the acquisition of a Waveguide Polishing Tool, to be used by the Center for Nanocale Science and Technology Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD. ***** Sole source determination is based on the need to purchase a Wavelength Polishing Tool that combines low platen rotation speeds (minimum speed as low as 5 rpm) with up to 360 degrees of sample rotation and the ability to make fine angular sample adjustment and sample load adjustment. Allied High Technologies is the only vendor capable in providing the required tool. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by July 16, 2015, EST will be considered by the Government.
