Description

Remove existing gravel and geotextile fabric. Remove all weeds and grass in the area around the weather stations. Excavate to a depth of approximately 4 inches below surrounding ground level in an elliptical pattern extending at least 4 � from the furthest points. Note: Existing gravel to be removed shall not be disposed of on WEBSTER or NAS PAX Bases. Install geotextile fabric on clean level ground keeping tight to all objects in the area of the weather stations. Place at least six inches of � � earth toned, gravel extending the same four foot away from the outer most fixtures. Contractors will be required to attend a runway safety course before commencement of work, if not already certified. If certified, that person must provide proof of certification. Contractor will have to use Air Ops approved radio device within the runway area of both facilities. Work may be considered on a weekend to ease access to the areas to be worked on.
