- Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head EOD Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), Indian Head, Maryland, has a requirement for Ordnance Assessment (AO) testing of the DODIC MT86 Canopy Remover Cartridge. OA testing is required in order to determine the degradation of performance characteristics of the Canopy Remover Cartridges and if they are attributable to the in-service environment and age, assess the units' safety reliability, and determine if a service life increase is feasible This will be a sole source award to United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Inc. (UTAS), 3530 Branscombe Road, Fairfield, CA 94533. UTAS is the sole manufacturer of the Canopy Remover Cartridges samples being tested. All Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT) on these samples is performed at UTAS, due to the fact that they have proprietary rights and the expertise in the use of the instrumentation. UTAS has the original data obtained from the initial acceptance and qualification testing, test fixtures, instrumentation, data collection apparatus and conditioning chambers required to function test these items. The anticipated period of performance is Not to Exceed (NTE) 120 days after date of contract. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
