Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to solicit quotes for a contractor to provide a Research Collaborator for assistance with a Research and Development (R&D) project entitled "A novel approach to measuring costs and efficiency: Lung nodules as a case study". The Contractor shall provide deliverables that will contribute to adapting natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to identify suspicious lung nodules in the Veteran Affairs Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) repository data being analyzed in this project and will participate in weekly meetings with the study team during all three years of the project for the Veteran Affairs Puget Sound Healthcare System. The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is VA260-15-Q-0842. 2. The solicitation will result in the award of a single contract. The resulting contract will be fixed-priced. The applicable NAICS code is 541712 - Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology) and the small business size standard in the number of employees is 500. 3. The anticipated contract period is: Date of Award - 19 July 2016 plus two (2) one-year option periods. 4. Telephonic requests for the solicitation will not be honored. The anticipated solicitation date is 9 July 2015 with a closing date of 16 July 2015. Interested offerors are advised to consult the actual solicitation for final dates and times. 5. Offers from all capable and responsible sources will be considered. Firms offering a response to this notice should ensure that they are registered in the System For Award Management (SAM) database https://www.sam.gov/portal/SAM/#1 and ensure that the that the applicable NAICS code 541712 is included in the SAM profile prior to submission of quotes. 6.
