Description

Statement of Work Combined Synopsis / Solicitation This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 - Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a written solicitation document will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the authority of FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation is a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Chemical Sciences Division Gas Sensing Metrology Group develops new methodologies and instrumentation for the measurement of gas phase molecular absorption features. These methodologies and instrumentation include novel spectrometers that offer ultra-high sensitivity to trace gases, high fidelity and reproducibility in measured concentrations, and precision gas metrology. In order to improve on high-sensitivity mid-infrared optical sensing methodologies, NIST requires an optical frequency comb to facilitate precision molecular spectroscopy in new spectral regions.
