The purpose of this notice is to determine the interest and availability of businesses to provide these services to the U.S. Department of Labor. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government, nor will the U.S. Government pay for information solicited. The information from this notice will help the United States Department of Labor (DOL) plan an acquisition strategy if an acquisition results from this notice. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL - NOR DOES A SOLICITATION EXIST AT THIS TIME Responses must include the following: 1. Provide a description of the services that you have provided which include the scope of work listed below and how long each project took to complete. Also describe whether you have sufficient resources to work simultaneously on more than one project. 2. Provide an explanation of whether your usual practice is to subcontract some of the effort or is the entire project staffed by your employees. 3. Describe your commercial pricing practices for customers currently supported. 4. Vendor's Company Name, Address, and Contact Information. 5. Vendor's DUNS Number. 6. Business Size and socio-economic classification under the NAICS shown above. Interested vendors must provide their response via email to the individual(s) identified in this announcement; with the subject line reading "15-OOPA-OPA-NAT-0039 RFI Response." All responses are due by July 15, 2015, by 3:00 p.m. local time (ET). The response must be specific to the qualifications listed above. A determination by the Government to proceed with the acquisition as a small business set-aside is within the discretion of the Government. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 10.002(b)(2)(i) this notice is issued for the purpose of market research. This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation or an indication the Government will contract for the items contained in this notice. This notice is not to be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is it implied as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, and the Government will pay for or reimburse expenses any cost associated to interested parties for submission pertaining to or responding to this RFI notice. Any response received will not be used as a proposal, but for information to the government for future acquisition planning purposes. Secretary's Conference Room Control Room • Remove existing cabinet. • Update/replace existing equipment in cabinet and replace all existing equipment in cabinet. • Build a recessed control system by using section of adjacent offices. Lighting • Replace existing lighting fixtures with LED or better alternatives. • Existing lighting layout remains unchanged. • Add strobe lights for photography. Sound • Audio configuration remains unchanged. Communications • Install wireless headset communication system Other • Design and install backdrop for conference room, allowing for multiple uses (Press conferences, PowerPoint presentations, sit down interviews) • Upgrade existing podium to incorporate a microphone and multimedia controls. The César Chávez Auditorium Control Room • Refurbish the control room with the most current equipment needed for all possible productions, i.e. Blu-ray player, digital tuner, rack mounted non-ECN computer with monitor and pull-out keyboard. • Add digital production switcher. Lighting • Replace existing stage lighting with LED or better for both front and back lighting. Lighting should allow for focus on the podium while the rest of the stage is out of light zone for visuals on a new screen. • Rack mount lighting control (stage and room) in the control booth and if possible, with a remote controller that could be used out in the auditorium itself. • Add remote strobe lights for a photographer's use. Sound • Replace the current sound system with new speakers and new controls. • Eliminate the AGC which puts "hiss" into the speakers and recordings when no sound is heard by the present system. Communications • Install built-in wireless headset communication system. Other equipment • Replace current television monitors with 60" LED flat screens. • Replace current projection screen. • Add two ( 2) remote HD PTZ Cameras operated in control room THE GREAT HALL Control Room • Build and install a control room in back of the Great Hall for new sound, lighting and live event production requirements. Lighting • Replace current lighting with LED's - both front lighting and rear lighting. Include the ability to control the new LED lights for directional lighting as required e.g. podium lit, rest of stage not lit. • Integrate new lighting for stage and hall into lighting board in control room for events. Include additional wall controls for day-to-day use of Great Hall lighting. • Add remote strobe lights for photographer's use. Sound • Install a sound system with individual speakers positioned strategically throughout the Great Hall for optimal sound. • Integrate audio controls in control room. Communications • Install wireless headset communication system. Other equipment • Install 8 (eight) 60" LED monitors to be suspended from the Great Hall ceiling in front of designated columns. Wire LED monitors for playback and display of live programming from control room. • Install retractable screen in the back of the stage for digital backdrops and viewing presentations.
