Description
Thin-Lop Vicinity Map Thin-Lop Project Map Fireline Construction Map Machine Pile & Fireline Vicinity Map Cultural Resources Map Solicitation Document SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: This solicitation is for two items. One contract shall be awarded for all items and for all activities. The area is being thinned in the summer of 2015. Completion of the thinning contract is expected by Sept 1, 2015. Work consists of constructing excavator fire line and machine piling thinning slash. Fire line shall also be constructed around the perimeter of two cultural resource sites that are located outside the area to be piled. The cultural resource sites are approx. ¾ of a mile north from FR 539. The contractor will be given the latitude and longitude of the sites and be expected to locate them. There are 1410 feet of fire line to build around the two cultural sites. Travel to the cultural sites will be cross country, there are no roads to the sites. The objectives of the fire lines are to contain a prescribed fire and protect cultural sites from prescribed fire. The objective of the piling is to facilitate burning the slash during the winter or wet periods. The Joaquin Canyon Project is part of a larger project to reduce fuels and protect the Chaparral Girl Scout Camp that is located several miles to the north. Prospective contractors must be registered in SAM.gov in order to be considered for award. Please see attached solicitation document and maps for all specifications terms and conditions.
