- Description
- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR A BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TO TEG 5000 HEMOSTASIS ANALYZER WITH TWO CHANNELS. PLEASE EMAIL SHAREW HAILU AT SHAREW.HAILU.CIV@MAIL.MIL WITH A CAPABILITY STATEMENT BY THE DUE DATE. PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT New contract for a Haemonetics Thromboelastography (TEG) equipment purchase with incidental installation 1. OBJECTIVE: To provide essential equipment for detecting and analyzing coagulopathy profile for projects in Brain Trauma Neuroprotection and Neurorestoration (BTNN). 2. INTRODUCTION: The Department of Brain Trauma Neuroprotection and Neurorestoration (BTNN), Center for Military Psychiatry and Neuroscience, will be conducting studies investigating coagulopathy profile following polytrauma associated with penetrating ballistic-like brain injury (PBBI) in rodent models. 3. BACKGROUND: The BTNN group, Center for Military Psychiatry and Neuroscience, will be conducting studies aimed at evaluating coagulopathy profile in a rat model of polytrauma associated with penetrating ballistic-like brain injury (PBBI). TEG will allow coagulopathy assessments, including clot strength, platelet function, and fibrinolysis. 4. SCOPE OF WORK: Description of services: Contractor will supply and install the equipment in BTNN, train staff for use, and provide troubleshooting and maintenance at no cost. Minimum Essential Characteristics The system must be more sensitive to coagulation changes than conventional methods e.g. Thromboplastin time and partial thromboplastin time. The system must offer a wide range of assays to measure including clot strength, platelet function and inhibition, as well as primary and secondary fibrinolysis, in order to provide a complete coagulation profile. Kaolin and RapidTEG must be included as they are included in the new American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Guidelines. The data must be presented in seconds or minutes after the samples are injected. The system must be compatible with both citrated and non-citrated whole blood samples. The system must be able to overlap serial tracings while tests are running to allow operator to simultaneously view current and past results. The system must allow remote viewing for multiple users to access to multiple assays (both running and archived) at multiple computer stations. The running cost of the system must be less than other systems on the market which offer similar measures. All service including preventive maintenance, and all operator/clinical training must be done on-site at the institution. 5. Deliverables: Contractor will supply and install the equipment in BTNN and ensure that instrument is functional. Contractor will train staff in its use and provide user manual. 6. GOVERNMENT SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES: None 7. PLACE OF AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: At WRAIR i.e., contractor will come to WRAIR to install equipment and train personnel. The period of performance will be one year beginning at install date.
