Description
Draft Statement of Work The National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) has a collection of fine art that represents over two (2) centuries of both eye-witness accounts and artistic interpretations of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in battle, enduring the anguish, routine, boredom and peril that are the Marines. The 8,000+ piece collection includes works by nationally and internationally recognized artists. The majority of the collection includes works on paper and stretched canvas. Some works are painted on wood, metal, Masonite, and other substrates. The dimensions of the works range from 1.5" tall x 2" wide to over 5'6" tall x 10'6" wide. The paintings in the collection range in age from the mid-19th century to the present day. The Art Collection's rationale has as its primary focus, fine art that documents the creation and history of the Continental Marines and United States Marine Corps and will acquire works dating back to 1775 if the opportunity presents itself. The purpose of this requirement is to mat and frame original works of fine art, period lithographs, rare posters, antique tapestries, reproductions, gicleé prints, and other two-dimensional images to properly store and exhibit works of two dimensional works of art. INSTRUCTIONS: Responses to this RFI shall not exceed ten (10) pages, including cover letter and contact information.
