- Notice of Intent THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE - THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD FOLLOW-ON CONTRACT TO SONY ELECTRONICS, INC TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT SERVICES. The Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Media Activity (DMA) intends to award a sole source contract under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition. DMA intends to issue a sole source contract to Media Broadcast GmbH, Ginnheimer Stadweg 90, 60431 Frankfurt Germany in an effort entitled AFN Europe Transmitter Operations and Maintenance for Wiesbaden, Stuttgart and Garmisch, Germany. The anticipated period of performance will be for one year with additional one year options pursuant to FAR 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. Anticipated award for a sole source contract to Media Broadcast GmbH., to provide support services to the Department of Defense (DoD) American Forces Network - Broadcast Center (AFN-BC). The Government anticipates a firm fixed price. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement via email in Microsoft Word format with a file size less than 5MB to Valerie McKinney, Contract Specialist, via email: valerie.n.mckinney.civ@mail.mil and Michael D. Jackson, Contracting Officer at michael.d.jackson119.civ@mail.mil, Subject Line: Response to NOI HQ0516-5345-5000-000; no later than 1:00 pm EST, 24 July, 2015. Please contact Valerie McKinney for instructions regarding file sizes over 5MB. All information submitted should support the offeror's capability to provide the items required, and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses must be in writing and must provide clear and concise documentation indicating an offeror's bona fide capability to provide these services. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220 - Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing, and the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within fourteen (14) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
