- 693-15-2-539-0037 STATEMENT OF WORK Med Gas System Testing This request is for annual testing and inspection of the medical gas system at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, 1111 East End Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 for Base year and 4 One Year Option Periods. Base Period: 7/17/2015 - 7/16/2016 Option Yr 1: 7/17/2016 - 7/16/2017 Option Yr 2: 7/17/2017 - 7/16/2018 Option Yr 3: 7/17/2018 - 7/16/2019 Option Yr 4: 7/17/2019 - 7/16/2020 Point of Contact is Joseph Pellicano, Supervisor BioMedical Engineer, 570 824-3521 x7202. Anticipated date of service to begin 7/17/15. Contractor will test the existing medical gas system for compliance with NFPA 99, NFPA 50, CGA, and ANSI specifications and recommendations. The inspection will include the following: Inspection of all accessible medical gas inlets and outlets that are in current patient care areas. All other areas will be documented but will not be tested. Testing of all medical gas zone shut-off valves for labels, gauge accuracy and external leaks that are in current patient care areas. All other areas will be documented but not tested. Actively simulate pressure changes to activate the master alarm signals with the exception of the 02 liquid station using appropriate test devices and demand check valves, where access is available. Actively simulate pressure changes to activate all accessible medical gas area alarm panels using appropriate test devices and adapters. Testing of area alarms for indicators and gauge accuracy included in current patient care areas. All other areas will be documented but will not be tested. Contaminant testing the medical air system. Particulate testing of at least 10% of the gas outlets near the end of each zone. Inspection of the medical gas source equipment for code compliance.
