- JOTFOC Packaging, Marking and Bar coding instructions The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement and requesting quotations for the following part: Item 1) NSN: 3040-99-729-7565 CYLINDER ASSY HYDRAULIC CYLINDER FOR FIN STABLIZER, 110' WPB BORE - 100MM ROD DIA.-45MM STOKE-246MM WORKING PRESS-2000 PORTS-1/2 IN BSP ITEM SHALL BE SUPPLIED WITH TRHEADED EYE END, ROD END BEARINGS, AND CIRCLIPS MFG: VT MARINE PRODUCTS, LTD QTY: 6 EA P/N: A0683503A EACH CYLINDER ASSEMBLY SHALL BE PACKAGED IN INDIVIDUAL WOODEN BOXES CAPABLE OF PROVIDING PROTECTION AGAINST DAMAGE DURING LONG TERM STORAGE, HANDLING AND MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS. THE WOODEN BOXES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 1 IN BY 3 IN WOOD FRAMING AND ½ IN MINIMUM PLYWOOD ONLY. (FLAKBOARD, PARTICLE BOARD, OSB NOT AUTHORIZED) THE CRATE LIDS SHALL BE SECURED WITH CORROSION RESISTANT WOOD SCREWS. (NAILS, STAPLES, BRADS OR OTHER SECURING HARDWARE NOT AUTHORIZED) EACH CYLINDER SHALL BE PACKED TO PREVENT MOVEMENT INSIDE OF PACKAGE. EACH PACKAGE SHALL BE MARKED ON THE TWO LONGEST SIDES WITH WATERPROOF BLACK BLOCK LETTERING VIA MACHINE MADE STENCILS AT LEAST 3/8" TALL ON A PAINTED WHITE BACKGROUND. CG QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTORS MAY INSPECT ITEMS AT CONTRACTORS FACILITY TO ASSURE ITEMS MEET PACKING, PACKAGING, MARKING AND BAR CODING REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER NO LESS THAN 7 DAYS PRIOR TO ITEMS BEING READY FOR INSPECTION. The items are used on various US Coast Guard vessels. All items will be individually packaged and marked IAW SP-PP&M-001. Inspection and acceptance shall take place at Destination after verification of preservation, individual packaging and marking requirements and confirmation of no damage during transit. Failure to comply with packaging requirements will result in rejection and nonpayment. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center, Baltimore MD. NOTE: NO DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS OR SCHEMATICS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THIS AGENCY. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format outlined in FAR Subpart 12.6, FAC 2005-83 (Jul 2015) and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 333995. The resultant purchase order will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Companies must have valid DUNS numbers and be registered with System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) and shall provide the company Tax Information Number (TIN) with their offer. The closing date and time for receipt of quote is July 17th at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
