SYNOPSIS - F101 Case, Compressor, Air •1. Estimated solicitation issue date 23 July 15 and estimated closing/response date 24 Aug 15. •2. RFP #: SPRTA1-15-R-0320 •3. PR#: FD2030-15-01794 •4. Nomenclature/Noun: Case, Compressor, Air •5. NSN: 2840-01-207-5405 JF •6. PN: 9528M23G11 •7. Application (Engine): F101 •8. AMC: 1C •9. History: GE Aviation. : 10 each, 15 Sep 2012 •10. Description: Dimensions: Length 22 in, Width 26 in, Height 26 in, Weight 50 lbs. Material: Titanium. Function: The compressor case (2 halves) contains the IGV Vanes and Stage 1 thru 5 Vanes. It has a series of holes around the outer perimeter for the IGV Vanes and Stages 1 thru 3 Vanes which are variables to regulate compressor airflow. •11. This item is a potential candidate for GE long term contract SPM4AX-12-D-9422. First articles (FA) may be required: 1 destructive exhibit to be expended during testing and 2 nondestructive exhibits that may become part of production. Qualification Requirements are applicable •13. Export Control is applicable Mandatory Language: Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestors are acceptable. The purposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and compete with only a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Currently GE Aviation (cage code 07482) is the only known source that can satisfy the Government requirements. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Since GE Aviation is currently the only approved source a letter request for proposal will be posted. The technical data package is attached to this synopsis. Qualification requirements apply. Contract award will be made only if the product/service, manufacturer, or source meets the qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. Interested offerors are encouraged to submit Source Approval Requests (SARs) as soon as possible as the Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending SARs. If the Government has not completed review of a SAR package upon contract award, then the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible source approval for future awards. AWARD WILL NOT BE WITHHELD AWAITING QUALIFICATION. If competition is received a revised solicitation will be posted to include Section L and M. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from Offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Far Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services.
