Description
Statement of Work (SOW) The Naval Research Laboratory is seeking capabilities statements and information regarding the administration of a program for NRL in supporting the recruitment, evaluation and the selection of students to participate in a year round internship program for the Summer and Fall/Winter terms. The primary prospective audience for the program will include underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students attending Historically Black College and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions (MIs) nationwide and high school students in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Eligible candidates of exceptional promise and ability will be given the opportunity to pursue research opportunities closely related to their own interest and compatible with the announced research interests of NRL. In collaboration with the NRL, the a potential awardee will provide administrative support that involves acting as the liaison between the participating undergraduate, graduate and high school students and the Government facility at which they are assigned to perform their proposed research. The potential awardee support functions will include payment of stipends and facilitating the assignments of the selected candidates. Moreover, the potential awardee shall coordinate with NRL Program Directors in the execution of an outreach program/workshop designated for university professors and local high school teachers. The attached Statement of Work describe the HBCU internship assistance that the Naval Research Laboratory is interested in. Any interested party should reference the attached document and submit capabilities statements in accordance with those documents. This is neither a request for formal Request for Proposals (RFP) or quotes (RFQ). The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submission of materials in response to this request. There is no solicitation available at this time. However, should such a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against NRL shall arise as a result of a response to this Request for Information (RFI) or NRL's use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement.
