Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. NO AWARD WILL RESULT FROM THIS NOTICE. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of industry, namely Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); Small Business and Woman Owned Small Business. The Department of Veterans Affairs, is conducting this sources sought to seek qualifies and interested parties capable of providing the services identified in the sources sought announcement. The NAICS code is 569210. The Size Standard is $19.0. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The contractor shall provide asbestos abatement, mold remediation, and general construction services as outlined in the drawings and specifications, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local standards. This work will be performed in a functioning Medical Center that must remain fully operational during construction. The contractor must coordinate, plan, and schedule work in order to maintain full services to all occupied areas and limit any disruption, up to and including working off hours. The intent of this project is to remove flooring and repair water damage in the areas shown on the drawings and includes, but is not limited to: ? Asbestos abatement during removal of floor tile and mastic in Buildings 2, 3 and 62 as shown on the drawings. Approximate quantities are as follows: o Building 2 - 2860 SF o Building 3 - 1580 SF o Building 62 - 4413 SF ? Mold remediation in Building 3 consisting of removal of gypsum board partitions and insulation to a height of 4 feet on both sides of the wall indicated on the drawings, in accordance with the remediation report by Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc. (approximately 450 SF of wallboard total) ? Construction of a temporary partition between the kitchen in Building 3 and the mold remediation area, including temporary relocation of electrical outlets for PODs ? Reconstruction of the existing wall between the kitchen and OIT once mold has been eliminated, using 5/8" Type X moisture and mold resistant gypsum board and unfaced fiberglass batt insulation, taped and finished to match existing wall (CertainTeed M2Tech Type X) on both sides (OIT and Kitchen) ? Install epoxy cove base on kitchen side 6" up wall and extend on floor out to 3" (Dur-a- Flex or equivalent installed per manufacturer recommendations) ? Removal of carpet in Building 3 as shown on drawings, including adhesive but not including the underlying floor tiles. The response date to this Sources Sought notice is July 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm EST. This market research is for informational and planning purposes.
