- Visitor List for Base Access - Industry Day 28 Jul 2015 It is expected that the award will be a commercial firm-fixed price contract for supplies with incidental service of installation. Drawings are attached to this pre-solicitation (synopsis). A formal Purchase Description (PD) will be issued with the solicitation. The scope of this effort is to provide material for and installing scaffolding. This scaffolding will be the structural support for a spherical simulation dome developed by a contracting entity for use in prototyping and simulating operational flight profile (OFP) changes for F-16 Block 30 and Block 50 and demonstrating them to pilots and others that make decisions about OFP upgrades. A support structure (made of extruded aluminum scaffolding) has been designed by the government to support 44 mirror assemblies and 30 projector/lens assemblies in place around the dome surface which provide a continuous rear projected image of the out-the-window view generated by image generators onto the translucent dome surface for the flight simulation. The contractor shall be directly responsible for the construction and assembly of the HEDS Scaffolding per the drawings that will be provided to the contractor and ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completion of all tasks assigned under this contract. The contractor shall identify any direct requirements it may have for performing the requirements of this contract including but not limited to electrical power, ventilation, etc. The contractor shall assemble on site in Room 173 of Building 1515 at Hill Air Force Base the materials to construct the support structure for the projectors and mirrors The pre-proposal site visit is highly encouraged but is not required. ----- 15 Jul 15 Update: This is a follow-up RFI, prior to the issuance of a formal solicitation. Hill AFB plans to hold an "Industry Day" as a follow-up to the pre-solicitation/Request for Information (RFI) posted on FBO: "Scaffolding for Flight Simulator - FA8224-15-R-Scaffolding". On 28 Jul 2015 from 9:00-11:00 AM we plan to hold an "Industry Day" at Building 1515 on Hill AFB. As a result of the Industry Day, during the Q&A session, we would like input (critiques & suggestions) from the contractors in attendance as we complete our market research and finalize our Statement of Work (SOW). Building 1515 is a secure-facility with stringent security requirements. No photos are allowed in this area. We ask that any who attend would leave any cameras, tablets, phones, or other electronic devices in their vehicles.
