Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown, New Jersey 07724 intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the renewal of maintenance for brand name Sybase maintenance and support, to include; telephonic helpdesk support (8AM-6PM Mountain Standard Time), software patches, new maps, and software updates for an existing Sybase gateway mapper installation under Request for Quote (RFQ) VA118-15-Q-2030 on a sole-sourced basis under General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) 70. This GSA RFQ will include open market items in the base and three option years. Specifically, VA will procure Sybase HIPAA Accelerator, Catalog Number 12086, which is an Open Market Item. The Government performed market research prior to release of the RFQ, the findings of which were that only this product/solution would be able to satisfy all of the Government's requirements for continued Sybase software maintenance. Therefore in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.402 (f), the Government intends to procure this item as part of its solution. Upon award of this delivery order, and in accordance with FAR 5.301, VA will post the associated Limited Sources Justification to the Federal Business Opportunities Page. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) Code/Size is 541519. This notification shall close on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
