- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (Not a Notice of Solicitation) FA8601-15-T-0198 The United States Air Force, AFLCMC/ Operational Contacting Branch, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio is seeking capabilities packages of potential sources including Small Business (SB), 8(a), HUBZone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns. This Sources Sought Synopsis is published for market research purposes only, to identify potential sources capable of providing B-25 shipping containers to the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The contractor shall provide all labor, supplies, and equipment necessary to provide the B-25 shipping containers in accordance with the requirements of industry standards, and applicable local, state, and Federal laws. TECHNICAL REQUIRMENTS The following paragraphs include specifications for intermediate bulk "B-25" shipping containers. They are to be used to package and ship bulk size solid radioactive materials to radioactive waste processors or recyclers. USA DOT Type A Specifications - 72" X 46" X 47" bolted closure container, approximately 90 cubic feet (ft3) in volume. Rated for 10,000 pound capacity (payload). Carbon Steel Construction or equivalent metal. Rust inhibitive primer on the inside and outside of the package. Exterior color is standard nonspecific requirement. Bolted closure system, No drain plug U.S. DOT Type A specifications with certifications to accompany each package. 3-7 Gauge Risers 2 D Rings on lid for lifting purposes. Lid is equipped with personnel lifting handles. IP 1 Specifications: 72" X 46" X 47" bolted closure container, approximately 90 cubic feet (ft3) in volume, carbon steel or equivalent container. Rated for 10,000 pound capacity (payload), Carbon Steel Construction or equivalent metal. Rust inhibitive primer on the inside and outside of the package. Exterior color is standard nonspecific requirement. Bolted closure system, No drain plug. IP-I specification standard with certifications to accompany package. 2 D Rings on lid for lifting purposes. Lid is equipped with personnel lifting handles. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 332439 - Other Metal Container Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. The government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based upon responses hereto for any subsequent action. All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database to be awarded a DoD contract. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not be individually notified of the results of any government assessments. The Government's assessment of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses, or any particular small business program. CAPABILITIES STATEMENT Interested parties shall submit a capabilities package, with a cover letter, that is brief and concise, yet clearly demonstrates ability to meet the stated requirements with sufficiently qualified personnel, as outlined in the attached Draft PWS.
