This is a sole source synopsis for the acquisition performance period extension of up to three months, September 1, 2015 to November 24, 2015, for analytical services and testing at the 222-S Laboratory on the Hanford Site under contract DE-AC27-10RV15051 with Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL). This contract is in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of River Protection?s (ORP) mission to safeguard the nuclear waste stored in Hanford?s 177 underground tanks, and to manage the waste safely and responsibly until it can be treated in the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant for final disposition. In accordance with the authority at FAR 6.302-1, ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements,? ORP intends to negotiate a contract modification(s) for up to three months extension. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for the requirement and is issued for notification purp oses only. The current support services are set to expire on August 31, 2015. Having ATL continue providing the analytical services for up to a two month period is necessary for continued/uninterrupted laboratory and analytical services currently being performed by the contractor at the 222-S Laboratory. On June 4, 2014, DOE published a Request for Proposal with solicitation number DE-SOL-0005750. May 28, 2015, DOE issued notices of the award. On June 16, 2015, GAO received a protest. The contract extension to ATL will be necessary during the automatic stay of the contract performance that resulted from the filing of the bid protest. Anticipated date of the resolution of the bid protest is September 24, 2015.
