- Data Server J&A The 10CONS/LGCB, Operational Contracting Office, U.S. Air Force Academy received a Sole Source justification for the purchase of a THINKMATE STX XE36-2460 Data Storage Device for which there is a non-manufacturing class waiver. This procurement is for the acquisition of a sole source commercial item using simplified procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) number is 334111 and the business size standard is 1,000. Only one responsible source has been identified to satisfy the USAFA requirement. This requirement is part of an on-going research effort between the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and the Air Force Research laboratory (AFRL). The two entities are engaged in a long-term research project, which requires the equipment pieces to be inter-operable and compatible with the existing infrastructure, network, and data needs. This request is issued for the USAF Academy Warfighter Effective Research Center. The nature of the research is the key factor necessitating this specific equipment configuration. Evidence can be provided in the form of company literature. It must support the offeror's claim that they can provide this brand name product. All qualified sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by this agency. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement can be conducted. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be received NLT 1:00 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST) on 23 July 2015. Responses received after this will be considered late IAW FAR 52.212-1(f) and will not be evaluated.
