Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District has a need for an all welded, steel, commercial quality work boat to be used for inland navigation system support on the Ohio River and tributaries. The vessel provided shall be intended to be used for maintenance purposes on the Ohio River, Pittsburgh District. The vessel is intended to be an all-seasons support vessel for operations in and around the lock and dam. The vessel should have good speed for response, good handling characteristics and exceptional stability for missions and maintenance activities. The vessel shall have necessary safety and security features and equipment to allow the vessel to remain in the water through typical high and low water periods common to Western Pennsylvania. The vessel shall be fully equipped to safely and efficiently perform the missions and functions described in this document. Vessels shall be rated and have safety gear for a maximum occupancy of 8 people. The vessel must come equipped with a minimum of 1 captain's chair. The vessel shall be equipped with a GPS/Depth finder combination same or equal to a Hummingbird model 899CI HD. Provisions shall also be made for installation of a marine radio project personnel have currently onsite. The vessel shall be equipped with a hydraulic telescoping crane permanently pedestal mounted on the center of the bow. Crane shall have self contained hydraulic system powered by 12V DC. Crane shall be capable of lifting expected loads in section 10 of this specification. The vessel will be a shallow draft, low freeboard, flat work barge vessel same or equal to an Oquawka Steel Flat Work Barge Model 5315 as manufactured by Oquawka Boats & Fabrication, Inc. This is a Small Business Set-Aside acquisition. All responsible offerors are encouraged to participate. The solicitation will be issued approximately 06 August 2015, online through Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) and Federal Business Opportunities (fbo.gov), therefore, requests for hardcopies of the solicitation will not be honored. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must register as an interested vendor on the Federal Business Opportunities website. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing notification of any changes to this solicitation. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before receiving a contract award (go to www.sam.gov to register). The NAICS for this procurement is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.
