- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION This is a request for planning purposes and information only, and does not constitute an invitation for bids, requests for proposals, quotes, or an indication that the Government will contract for the services contained in this notice. The Government will not reimburse recipients for any cost associated with the submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to the interested parties for responses. Your response to this Source Sought Notice will be treated as information only. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their responses. No funds have been authorized or received for this effort. INFORMATION SOUGHT The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for engineering consulting services for the testing, evaluation and configuration of BEP's LEPE (Large Examining and Printing Equipment) and CIS (Currency Inspection System) and are vital to ensure proper operation of these systems. (See: Attached Performance Work Statement - DRAFT). Work will primarily be performed at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's facility located at 9000 Blue Mound Road, Fort Worth, TX. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The proposed NAICS code is 541330. Specifically, the BEP is interested in companies that are able to perform the requirement. Those interested are requested to provide a capability statement of their ability to perform the requirement, including general information such as the name of the business, and the business's DUNs number and CAGE code. At this point in the procurement process the BEP is performing market research to determine interest. Interested firms should send their information and/or capability statement to above by email to douglas.boorstein@bep.gov and charlene.johnson@bep.gov no later than 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time, 30 July 2015. No phone calls will be accepted. Information shall also include the Socio-economic status i.e. SDVOSB, VOSB, SDB, HUBZone, 8(a), WOSB and/or Small Business. If claiming SDVOSB and VOSB, please provide VetBiz Certification. Please address the following: 1. Company Name, point of contact, email address, telephone and web address and SAM certification. Please insure that you have certified your small business status for NAICS code 541330. 2. Are you able to provide a key staff person meeting the requirements set forth at paragraph 2.2 of the Government's draft performance work statement? 3. Are you able to provide a key staff person capable of passing the mandatory background security investigations and meet the Government's need to have stability and continuity of your workforce during the duration of the contract? 4. What is your staffing contingency plan if/when key personnel and staff persons are removed from the contract for any reason (e.g., promotion, attrition, long term llness, impropriety, death, etc.) so as not to interrupt contract requirements? 5. What percentage of work, if any, would be done by subcontractors? If so, what are your quality control measures? Please provide your business size.
