Description

Some new questions have been asked, that may answer thoughts someone else may have had... 1. If we have a "potential" subcontractor listed do they haver to go through all the detials that we do? I may not ever use them in this contract but my understanding is I have to list them? ANSWER: WITH AWARDED CONTRACTS, WHOMEVER THE PRIME CHOOSES TO HIRE IS THEIR BUSINESS, BUT WE DO HAVE TO BE NOTIFIED OF WHO THE SUB IS, AND BEFORE HIRING THEM, WE, FS, HAVE TO CHECK SAM TO SEE IF THEY ARE IN THAT SYSTEM. AS WE REQUIRE PRIMES TO BE IN SAM, THE SAME RULE APPLIES TO ANY SUBCONTRACTORS. IF THEY ARE NOT IN THER...THEY CAN'T BE USED UNTIL THEY ARE. 2. If wer are awarded a contract and on a Task Order we require the use of a subcontractor but we did not list them in this bid can we still use them? ANSWER: ANY POTENTIAL SUBCONTRACTORS DO NOT HAVE TO BE LISTED PRIOR TO AWARD. IT IS ONLY WHEN THE TIME COMES AND A DESIRE IS MADE TO USE A SUB, THEN THE FS MUST BE NOTIFIED SO THE APPROPRIATE CHECKS CAN BE MADE IN ORDER FOR THEM TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE GOVERNMENT.
