- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office has a future requirement for Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas, Galveston Causeway To Bastrop Bayou, In Galveston County, Texas-Shallow Pipeline Dredging. This project will require the contractor to perform maintenance dredging of the GIWW Galveston Causeway To Bastrop, approx. 939,000 cubic yards and five (5) Options for GIWW Galveston Causeway To Bastrop, approx. 202,000 cubic yards. Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 120 calendar days, if exercised 15 calendar days will be added for Options No. 1 and 2 and 10 calendar days will be added for Option No. 5. No days will be added if Options 3 or 4 is exercised. The estimated award date for this project is 24 Sep 15. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (5) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin dredging within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $917.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The Government contemplates awarding a FIRM-Fixed Price contract. This will be an Unrestricted Procurement. This synopsis is not an obligation of the Government and all information sent in is voluntary. The Solicitation will be issued on or about 4 August 2015.
