- This document contains a picture as well as specifications for the CPCs. This document contains the Statement of Work for this requirement. This document contains the full text of this Request for Quote including the applicable provisions and clauses. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6-STREAMLINED PROCEDURES FOR EVALUATION AND SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS-AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED, AND A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. THE SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED USING SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 13. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is issuing a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for the stripping and recoating of 24 compound parabolic cone (CPC) concentrators. The contractor shall remove the aluminum and magnesium fluoride coatings from the CPCs and refurbish the cone surface if necessary. Refurbishing may include but is not limited to, buffing out an imperfections from the CPC and/or adding additional Rhodium coating. The CPCs will then be recoated using vacuum deposition with aluminum and magnesium fluoride and return shipped to NIST. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 333314 - Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-83. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business.
