- The Library of Congress intends to issue a request for proposal (RFP) on or about July 30, 2015 for the provision of technical professional, non-personal services to create, manage, and process first-person field documentation featuring individual events and narrators. This initiative supports the national Civil Rights History Project (CRHP), a joint endeavor between the American Folklife Center (AFC) at the Library of Congress and the National Museum of African American History and Culture by adding collection items - born-digital audiovisual recordings and metadata - to the extant CRHP project collection, presently housed at the Library. Scope: The contractor shall be responsible for coordinating all work in planning and executing the documentation, production, and processing of born-digital collection items, consisting of preservation-quality, audiovisual documentation of oral narratives and associated descriptive and technical metadata. The contractor may also be required to provide verbatim, time-coded and audit-edited transcriptions of recorded narratives and logs of recordings. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the Library of Congress Fiscal Operations Improvement Act, P.L. 106-481, Section 103 (2 U.S.C. § 182c.).
