Description

RFI N65540-15-RFI-004 The Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is seeking information on how an interested contractor could produce a light emitting diode (LED) based tube product to replace the 1-foot long, 8WT5 fluorescent lamps in use in various military specified lighting fixtures used by the US Navy. The current specification for retrofit LED tube products, MIL-DTL-16377/86A, does not currently cover this fluorescent lamp type. This RFI is intended to gather the information necessary to standardize on a single set of requirements for a replacement to the 8WT5 fluorescent lamps currently procured by the US Navy. This includes current products that may act as functional replacements, but without being fully mil spec compliant and products that may require additional components or different wiring methods to function. is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future.
