Description
AID 302-3: USPSC Application Form Vacancy Announcement for Sr. Acquisition & Assistance Specialist This position is located in the Office of Acquisition and Assistance (OAA) at USAID/Tanzania. The OAA is responsible for solicitation, competition, award and administration of a $1 billion-plus portfolio of contracts and grants. Tanzania is one of Africa’s fastest growing economies with per capita gross domestic product (GDP) increasing from $1,229 in 2004 to $1,718 in 2013. Yet, widespread poverty persists with 43.5% (2012) of Tanzania’s population living below the poverty line of $1.25 per day. Women make up 50% of the population, yet gender inequities persist, constraining Tanzania women’s contributions to development. The Senior Acquisition and Assistant Specialist is a highly technical position and is critical to the procuring of all programs in Tanzania. His/Her responsibilities include providing support on all aspects of contract management relating to and affecting USAID assistance programs in Tanzania. This includes providing policy guidance, project planning, project design, and implementation and the evaluation of on-going programs. As well, He/she is responsible for planning, developing, carrying out, managing, and advising on all aspects of procurement and contract management relating to and affecting USAID/Tanzania assistance programs, policy and project planning, design, implementation, and evaluation. He/she will participate in projects, mission policy formulation, and project design. He/she will develop and execute plans for the procurement of and provide contract management support to achieve program objectives.
