- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this notice. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System (VA) is hereby seeking potential Contractors that provide equipment and technical support for VA Radiology Interventionist Physicians when they are performing Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Microwave Ablation (MWA), and Cryoablation procedures. This will be done on-site at the Omaha VA Medical Center, 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, NE 68105. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the VA Health Care System. The technician will provide their technical expertise and guidance in using the mobile ablation equipment assisting the Radiology Interventionist Physician navigation solutions for complex ablation procedures in order to maximize patient safety. Services will be scheduled through the VA NWIHCS Radiology Service. Generally the VA will provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice. However, there may be emergency situations that will require same day services. The Cryoablation unit is required to be on-site and in the C.T. Suite a minimum of 60 minutes prior to start of case and shall remain in the C.T. Suite until procedure is completed. It is estimated that 64 procedures (24 Cryoablation, 36 RF Ablation, and 4 MicroWave Ablation) will be performed per year that will need Cryoablation equipment. All contract provider's standard of care shall cover the same range of services as would be provided in a civilian medical treatment facility, and shall follow the standard of care required by the policies of the VA NWIHCS for patient safety and quality assurance. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal. The intended contract period would be for one base year and four, one-year option periods.
