- Bonners Ferry Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests (IPNF) will solicit for Deer Spread Road Improvementse. This Project involves improving on an existing roadbed that has no surfacing material remaining. The work will be to remove any oversized rocks from the roadbed, milling or pulverizing the remaining rocks, and importing pit run to place and mix with the processed subgrade to create a new road surface. Included in this project will be collecting, hauling and placing riprap material; collected from along the road source as well as pit run material from a nearby government source. Additionally the project will consist of improving the drainage along the length of the road by installing armored grade dips and culverts as well as cleaning the existing drainage featues on the newly reconditioned and improved roadway. The project location may be reached by taking HWY 95 north out of Bonners Ferry, Idaho towards 3 mile JCT and turn East onto HWY 2. Travel along highway 2 Eastward for approximately 6.9 miles and turn left (North) onto Co. Road 72 (Old Highway 2 Road). Continue on this road for approximately 3.1 miles and turn left onto Deer Creek Road (road 435). Follow Deer Creek Road for nearly 10.6 miles over Canuck Pass to JCT with road 871. At the JCT for 435 and 871 is the start of the project and the project ends at the trailhead for trail 44 and 440 near Canuck Peak. The Project starts at N48°55'31.80' by W116° 2'46.00' located in Section 33, T37N, R34W, Principal Meridian. Price range between $25,000 and $100,000. Estimated start date September 15, 2015 and complete by October 31, 2015. Solicitation to be issued on or around August 12, 2015.
