Description
This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) intends to solicits a proposal and enter into a contract with Stanford University, Stanford, CA. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 10 U. S. C. 2304(c)(1) per FAR 6.302-1(c). The NAICS code for this 541712. Naval Medical Research Center requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with System for Award Management (SAM). Description: Biosurveillance and analysis services for known and novel etiologies of Acute Febrile Illness in rural Liberia, specifically: • Assist in the preparation and submission of an Institutional Review Board protocol • Define the "Catchment Area" of the population served by the Foya Hospital and disseminated community clinics in Lofa County, Liberia • Train, manage and supervise in-country teams comprising Liberian National and NAMRU-3 personnel during site visits to obtain primary data for epidemiological analysis of the incidence of Acute Febrile Illness • Analyze data and deliver population-based estimates on the incidence of Acute Febrile Illness • Assist/participate in the generation of data products for publication during performance and upon completion of the project • Perform travel to Lofa County, Liberia to liaise between local hospital staff at the Kolahun Regional Hospital and the Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research, with the end goal of integrating Kolahun Regional Hospital into the study/project
