- This is not a request for proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only. This is not a solicitation announcement and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Small and disadvantaged businesses are encouraged to provide input. BACKGROUND: The United States Coast Guard (USCG) currently operates HC-144 Maritime Patrol Aircraft powered by two CT7-9C3 turboprop engines. The aircraft is manufactured by AIRBUS MILITARY (formerly EADS CASA) in Seville, Spain. Some components are manufactured by Hamilton Sundstrand, Windsor Locks CT. While the base CASA CN-235-300M aircraft provides the foundation for the Coast Guard HC-144, changes to the base aircraft configuration and the addition of supplementary systems have been combined resulting in a CG01 version of the CN-235-300M. OBJECTIVES: To obtain a 5 year firm fixed price contract for services from a certified Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 authorized repair and overhaul center. The scope of the requirement will be to provide and establish repair and overhaul services for the following listed Hamilton Sundstrand manufactured parts. This would include the complete teardown, inspection, repair or overhaul, assembly, and testing of all items. Contractor must have access to, and ability to obtain current OEM specifications for inspection, repair and overhaul of the components. Contractor must have access to all updates and revisions that may be published by the OEM during the course of the five year contract. The Coast Guard does not own, nor can it provide this data. All companies that can provide the services are encouraged to provide a capability statement, company cage code, brochures, or any other information demonstrating that they can provide these services. This notice is to assist the USCG in determining potential sources only. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information to this sources sought. (7) Do you provide repair/overhaul services for these types of components to other government agencies, and if so which agencies, POCs and contract numbers? (8) If possible, provide POCs for civilian users for general usage of product questions. After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published in the FedBizOpps. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. Again, this is not a request for proposals.
