- Synopsis - FA8601-15-T-0200 Attachment 4 - FAR 52.212-3, Paragraph (b) Attachment 3 - DFARS 252.209-7992 CLINs, Provisions and Clauses AFIT Statement of Work Jun 2015 Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has has a requirement for English as a Second Language Instructor for international AFIT students. This course will provides qualified students for whom English is a second or foreign language with specific, academically focused training and practice in English communication. The instructor should be able to meet with both professors and students out of the classroom setting to assist with inter-cultural and language communications issues. Listed below are all skilled areas and activities that shall be covered in this course: Grammar, Reading, Pronunciation and Fluency, Interacting Effectively in Graduate Class, Listening Comprehension, Courtesy and Personal Interaction in the USA, and Paper and Thesis Writing. The instructor needs to have knowledge of higher education- MS and PhD degrees, and have ability to determine if a student is capable to meet the requirements of the advance English communications to pursue MS and/or PhD degree at AFIT. Also, the instructor must have thorough knowledge of the American collegiate system, including university organization requirements for degrees, accreditation, and grading systems, and interpretation of college/university transcripts, knowledge of GRE/GMAT/TOEFL scores. In addition, the instructor shall have the ability to employ analytical techniques, interpret information, and logically analyze processes and procedures. The instructor must have a full understanding of interpreting foreign student's language and be able to communicate with student to assist them in the following seven components: Grammar, Reading, Pronunciation and Fluency, Interacting Effectively in Graduate Class, Listening Comprehension, Courtesy and Personal Interaction in the USA, and Paper and Thesis Writing. The instructor must analyze the skill areas and activities periodically throughout the seven (7) week time frame and evaluation results will be disseminated in academic venues, grading reports and presentations. The instructor must have extensive knowledge of and working experience with the Air Force Career Fields structure and the protocols employed by academic departments at the AFIT Graduate School, the Air Force Personnel Center, and the Academic Coding Section Page 2 of 3 that is responsible for all Air Force Officers' education and training record Further details may be found on the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS) dated 19 June 2015, which is located at Attachment 1.
