- In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technical Laboratory (NETL) intends to award a purchase order, on a sole source basis, to Sono-Tek Corporation to purchase an ExactaCoat Ultrasonic Coating System for experimental membrane fabrication. This is considered a sole source to Sono-Tek Corporation because, to the best of the NETL?s knowledge, based on market research conducted Sono-Tek Corporation is the only known source that can provide the required ExactaCoat Ultrasonic Coating System. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy the NETL's requirement. The items intended to be procured include the following: 1. Part Number Exacta - ExactaCoat, Fully integrated enclosure, 400mm x 400mm XY motion range, Table Top XYZ Servo Motion Control includes all ultrasonic nozzle controls, ultrasonic generator, trigger timing circuitry, one ultrasonic nozzle assembly - Accumist, impact or Vortex - choice of 25 kHz - 120 kHz, Windows based PC w/ flat panel display, 8 axis integrated controls - for on the fly generator and pump control, Integrated standalone Syringe Pump TI, Class II Laser Pointer, and Spindle Module for coating rods (300mm maximum) QTY 1 each. 2. Part Number IR - Integrated repositionable IR heater - QTY 1 each. 3. Part Number SP - Integrated Additional Syringe Pump TI - QTY 1 each. 4. Part Number N Upgrade - Nitrogen Rich Environment Upgrade - Evacuates chamber to <5% Oxygen environment and electronically monitors condition to confirm appropriate Nitrogen setting includes LEL Sensors - QTY 1 each. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the NETL requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 5:00 PM ET on August 18, 2015. Responses must be submitted in writing to Robert.Mohn@netl.doe.gov no later than the time and date noted above. Telephone responses and requests will not be received. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
