- Date: 0804 Year: 15 Zip: 30341 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); 2920 Brandywine Road Atlanta, GA 30341 Contact: Nancy Khalil, Contract Specialist, nmkhalil@cdc.gov FAR, Subpart 5.204-NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Disease (NCEZID) intends to solicit a single source and award a firm-fixed price purchase order to Bioquell, Inc., 702 Electronic Drive, Suite 200, Horsham, PA 19044, in accordance with FAR, Subpart 13.5 using the Commercial Item Test Program. The purpose of this procurement is to acquire equipment known as "Bioquell Z-2 Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide Generators," which decontaminate laboratory spaces inside high containment facilities. Bioquell Z-2 units' performance, capabilities, and efficiency have already been tested and proved by the CDC and their use is part of the standing operational procedures for performing Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) decontamination of the CDC's high-containment laboratory suites. To change to a new system would incur unreasonable delays in our capability to decontaminate laboratories. Furthermore, no other company or source exists that can deliver the equipment that is needed with the specifications required for our applications of this technology. The only other VHP decontamination equipment available on the market cannot allow activation of the decontamination cycle to occur remotely, putting our biosafety personnel in undue harm. The expected delivery date is September 30, 2015. CDC anticipates soliciting and negotiating with only one source under the authority of the Test Program for Commercial Items (Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996) in accordance with FAR 13.501(a). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The associated NAICS Code is 334516. This is not a solicitation and proposals are not requested. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications statement to perform the effort, in writing to Mrs. Nancy Khalil, via email at nmkhalil@cdc.gov with "Solicitation Number 2015-N-17249" referenced in the subject line, no later than 4:00p.m. EST, Tuesday, August 11th, 2015.
