- Description
- In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract on a single source basis. The FAA intends to award a contract to RDF Products of Vancouver, WA, using single source procedures to provide Fixed-site AOA Type DF Systems with Watson-Watt Type Antennas. The DFR-1000B is a wideband radio direction finding receiver capable of ultrawide frequency coverage (subject to DF antenna frequency coverage) and is comprised of a DFP-1000B DF processor and AR8600 Mk2 compact communications receiver. This piece of equipment provides a complete full-featured high-performance DF receiver in a compact footprint that employs a 360 degree real-time polar TFT bearing display. The antenna is a 75-300 MHz fixed-site H-Dipole Adcock radio direction finding antenna. This antenna provides 75-300 MHz continuous coverage with sensitivity superior to that of comparable pseudo-dopplers. Provides ultrahigh signal handling capability with a fixed-site mast-mount H-dipole Adcock configuration. Important: This equipment MUST BE and has been tested and confirmed to be compatible with FAA-developed software. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capability and experience in providing the products required and the FAA will evaluate accordingly. All responses to this announcement must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Benjamin Tarr, via email by 1:00PM (EST), August 17, 2015. No phone calls.
