- A funded research program is being conducted that is focused on the development of advanced technology for reconnaissance applications. More specifically, masters and PhD students, as well as faculty, in the Electronic Systems Engineering and also the Space Systems Engineering curriculums, are investigating recent advances in cellular communications technology in an effort to understand the impact of this technology on both strategic and tactical reconnaissance. In order to complete this research project and to provide the agreed on deliverables to the research sponsor, a functional cell phone base station system is required that can be fully dedicated to the research program.
