Description
MARKET SURVEY PROGRAM MANAGER LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLES PNEUMATIC VALVE & LOCKING PIN MODIFICATION 1. Description: Program Manager Office Light Armored Vehicle (PMO LAV) is responsible for the total life cycle support for the Family of Light Armored Vehicles (FOLAV), and is located at the United States Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) in Warren, Michigan. PMO LAV seeks to identify sources capable of modifying the LAV driver seat adjustment across the entire fleet of PMO LAV Family of Vehicles. The two main components anticipated requiring modification are the driver seat height control valve (National Stock Number (NSN) 4820-01-158-0766) and the driver seat locking pin mechanism (NSN 5340-01-219-0166). The current driver seat height is controlled pneumatically, and the driver seat locking pin mechanism is controlled mechanically. Modification solutions are expected to focus on the height control valve and locking pin mechanism while maintaining the same interface with other components in the current configuration (i.e. pneumatic and mechanical controls respectively). The height control valve should include a return to center functionality, while the locking pin mechanism should be accessible, intuitive and include a lock/unlock indicator visible from in and around the seat. A solution(s) may address one or both of the components. Alternative modification solutions of a greater scope from components or systems in the current configuration will also be considered dependent on feasibility, with key considerations being affordability and complexity of integration. Any solution should ensure clear, safe and effective operation when using and maneuvering around the seat. 2. Market Survey Request.
